4-1-1 On Eyelash Extensions
Did you ever see one of those mascara commercials where the model looks like she’s wearing 5” black stiletto heals on her lashes? Did you ever then race out to your local beauty store and buy that brand, only to be disappointed when you get it home and realize that your lashes don’t even closely resemble the model’s?
Well, I’ll let you in on a little secret… Next time you see one of those ads look closely. Look very, very closely. It’s not the mascara that makes those lashes go WOW, it’s some serious eyelash extensions goin’ on! No longer applied as a strip, these eyelash extensions are hand-applied individually to each lash to achieve a more gorgeous, dramatic look. With this total painless and relaxing procedure you can enjoy beautiful lashes for your bachelorette party, that upcoming holiday party or that high-school reunion you want to look 10 years younger for. This is a must have item…With lash extensions you can leave your mascara at home and let your tears of joy fall without tarnishing any of your flawlessness. Plus, no threat of a raccoon eyes.
Advanced lash artist Susan Keefe will meticulously and delicately attach one lash extension to your natural lash one at a time, for a total of 40 to 100 lash extensions per eye. The lashes are applied approximately 2 mm from your eyelid so that your own lashes can grow and shed as they would naturally.
Susan is trained to design and style lashes to suit your needs. During a mini consultation, your eye shape, condition of your own natural lashes, facial features, skin tone, lifestyle and your preference will always be taken in consideration. Susan will then select the appropriate lengths (7mm-15mm), curvatures (C or J Curl), thicknesses (.15 or .20) customizing a unique, individual look just for you.
Our eyelash extensions never damage your own natural lashes and the look can last indefinitely, with fills every 2-4 weeks.
Note: Natural eyelashes grow and shed in cycles, typically every 60 days. When a natural eyelash matures and falls out, a new eyelash begins growing and quickly replaces the lost lash. Generally, we shed between 2 and 5 natural lashes each and everyday. When properly applied, lash extensions will remain in place until the natural lash on which it rests falls out. Fills will be necessary to replenish the fallen hairs and maintain the fullness.
Lash Care...
If you want to get the most out of your eyelash extensions, it is important to properly care for them. Treat them like gold!!! Lash extensions that are not properly cared for will fall out sooner and can even be a cause of eye irritation. In order to maintain good ocular health, as well as lengthen the life of your extensions, it is imperative that you practice proper maintenance of your eyelash extensions. If you properly care for your extensions, they will likely remain in place until the natural lashes that hold them fall out. The beauty of eyelash extensions is that they are fairly maintenance free. No mascara, love it!!! If you follow a few simple rules, you will be able to easily maintain your lash extensions and keep them much longer.
- Use care when washing your face. Avoid splashing water and cleanser in the eye area.
- Avoid rubbing your eyes or pulling on your eyelash extensions. Any action which puts stress on the extension will cause them to come off prematurely.
- Please consult with Clean Slate Spa if you feel your eyes or eyelashes are excessively irritated or itchy after the application.
- Eyelashes normally shed on a cycle, thus multiple extensions may be lost on any given day.
- Curling of eyelash extensions is not recommended. By doing do, you may shorten the lifespan of the extension. The eyelash extensions come with an upward flare to mimic a curled lash.
- Products with a high concentration of alcohol should be avoided.
- Avoid oil-based eye makeup or makeup remover. These products can potentially break down and shorten the length of the eyelash bond (adhesive).
- The bond dries instantly, so you never have to wait 12-24 hours before getting them wet!
Use an eyelash brush. Part of good maintenance is a neat appearance. Gently using an eyelash brush will help improve the look and length of the natural lashes as well as the lash extensions. Additionally, it will keep lashes and extensions from clumping or sticking together.
